Introducing the ‘Frame-It-All’ Waterfall and Pond Frame
Eco-friendly
The framework utilizes our Curved and Straight Composite Plastic Timbers. Manufactured from
60% recycled, post-consumer plastic and 40% wood flour, the Eco-friendly durable composite
wood grain plastic timbers never rot, warp or splinter. The cut-to-size Timbers connect to
brackets with our patented Anchor and Stacking Joint stakes.Waterfall and Pond Kit contains:
- 2 LONG CURVED TIMBERS
- 5 SHORT CURVED TIMBERS
- 12 STRAIGHT TIMBERS
- 10 ANCHOR JOINTS (2 per pack) each comprised of one barbed stake, 2 brackets, finishing cap and screws
- 12 STACKING JOINTS (2 per pack) each comprised of one short stake, 2 brackets, finishing cap and screws
- 6 FINISHING SLEEVES (2 per pack)
Here is a list of what you will need to obtain to landscape your waterfall and pond.
| 1) | Minimum size 10' X 10' rubber pond liner. |
| 2) | 10' X 10'pond underlayment fabric (This helps protect your rubber linear from any sharp edges). |
| 3) | Submersible Pump 1000 - 1500 GPH (depending on your desired water flow). |
| 4) | 10' flexible hose (The pump manual will advise what size hose to purchase). |
| 5) | Connectors and clamps to attach hose to the pump. |
| 6) | Filter (optional) |
| 7) | 1/2 yard of screened top soil. |
| 8) | Expandable Waterfall Foam - use it to seal gaps between stones so water flows over the rock in your waterfall. |
| 9) | Mortar can also be used to seal between stones in your waterfall and help help keep the stones in place as you landscape. |
| 10) | Rocks, stones and pebbles of various sizes and shapes. Choose flat stones for placing around the frame and shapping the design of your water garden. |
| 11) | Plants create interest and beauty inside the pond and around the exterior of water garden. Using large plants for the rear and sides of your waterfall reduces the amount of rocks and stone needed. |
Choose your best location – you don’t have to dig much!
Your pond & waterfall frame is 80” from the back of the waterfall to the front of the pond. The waterfall width is 24” and your pond width is 50” at its widest point. Allow enough space to landscape around your frame (an additional 18-24” around the pond section and 24-30” along the waterfall sides). To create the illusion of a secret water source, place the rear of the waterfall against a wall, fence or dense plant bed.
Choosing to place your pond in a sunny or shady location creates different conditions. A shady location will reduce algae growth and keep the pond water cool for fish. Depending on your area of the country, you may need a deeper pond to support fish. A sunny location will aid plant growth in and around your water garden, but will also promote algae growth (your waterfall will help reduce this effect by aerating the water).
Installation Notes: Before starting to assemble the water garden frame, refer to the parts diagram to understand how to screw the sleeves onto the timbers. Remove the Anchor Joints and Stacking Joints from the plastic bags and lay out the parts on a bench or table. Each of the joints comprises a stake and two brackets plus the screws needed.
How the Joints Work

Parts Identification

Set aside 3 straight timbers and attach the brackets diagonally as shown in the diagram (D) . Attach brackets parallel to all the remaining timbers.
Use 3 straight timbers, 1 short straight timber D , 1 short curved timber S and 5 Anchor Joints for the base level. When installing the base level use a builder’s level for accuracy.

Use 3 straight timbers, 1 short straight timber D ,1 short curved timber S and 5 Stacking Joints for the second level.

Use 2 straight timbers, 1 short curved timber S , 4 Stacking Joints and 2 Finishing Sleeves to form the third level.

Use 2 straight timbers, 1 straight timber D , 3 Stacking Joints and 4 Finishing Sleeves.
See Diagrams below
Upon completion of the assembly, you will have excess parts, which can be discarded. Wait until you are in the landscaping phase to cut the nubs off, as one or more of them can help keep stone and your waterfall hose in place, depending on your stone placements.
Forming Pond
Form pond section by assembling 2 long curved timbers, 2 short curved timbers, connecting with 4 Anchor Joints.
Use a builders level to level your pond. By hammering the Anchor Joints stakes to different depths until the frame is level.
Dig out the center of the pond 6”(A) and use this soil to build up the waterfall’s exterior (wait until the liner’s in place) to raise the grade or fill up the waterfall frame. You can fill the waterfall frame with yard debris such as brick, concrete, rocks, gravel, sand and even logs until flush with level B of both upper and lower waterfalls. Top off with soil to prevent sharp edges tearing your liner.

Pond Underlayment & Liner
Cover your waterfall & pond frame with a water garden underlayment fabric first, then cover with a 10’x10’ pond liner. Try to minimize folds and wrinkles, but some are necessary and will flatten out after you fill your pond. When your liner is in place, use the soil saved from digging the pond and mound up around the pond frame, leaving 2” of the frame above ground. To reduce the amount of stone needed, purchase 1/2 yard of good screened topsoil to mound around your waterfall frame. Mound your soil around the waterfall, mounding higher as you go towards the rear of the waterfall, tapering away from the frame. Adjust the soil levels when you start landscaping with stone.

Before stone and plant placement, locate your pump in the pond and run the flexible hose along the exterior of the waterfall frame to the rear top of the upper waterfall. You can hide the hose as you place stone and plants. Use larger plants towards the back of the waterfall reducing the need for stone work. Place stones & pebbles of varying sizes to give a more natural look breaking up the stones path with some low lying plants around the ponds edge.
Place stones in the interior of the pond and waterfall taking care to form a nice flat ledge on your upper and lower waterfalls by picking large flat stones. Seal between the stones and the frames sides with mortar and or expandable foam so the water flows nicely over your waterfall. Take time to place your stone and plants to give it a natural look, stamping your personal touch! Now you can enjoy many tranquil hours in the beauty and serenity of your fabulous waterfall and pond – and be the envy of all your neighbors.
